Gwynt y Mor and Rhyl Flats Funding
Posted on 01 Dec 2016
Just a quick shout out to say that our recent funding from Gwynt y Mor and Rhyl Flats Community Fund will be coming to an end on 30th December 2016. We still have some places available on our Volunteer Programme and would love to hear from people who would be interested in working with us.
If you are a person living with dementia, or are a carer for a person living with dementia, Book of You can be a fun and immersive activity which uses the many resources we find on the internet and in our own homes (words, pictures, film, music and spoken word) to create a reminiscence book which can be enjoyed for years to come.
Book of You works by concentrating on what a person can do, rather than what they can’t. Our Volunteers will help build the book and find the resources – all you need to do is provide the memories!
The funding is available for people who live in the North Wales coastal area, basically from St Asaph to Llandudno, including Rhyl, Kinmel Bay, Abergele, Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea, If you live within this area, your Book of You sessions are free, but please get in touch with us anyway if you live outside this area or are unsure and we will see if we can help you within these or one of our other groups.
Please contact Kathy on 01492 555381 or email kathy@bookofyou.co.uk for more details. We do realise that this is a busy time of year, but we are happy to start working with you in January if you put your name down for the sessions now.
