Branching out – Creating Life Stories for People with Learning Disabilities

Book of You has long been proven to be a valuable tool for helping those living with dementia. However for a number of months, we have been made aware of the potential benefits of doing life story work with other groups, including people with a learning disability. We have recently applied for and been successful with securing funding from the Intermediate Care Fund to pilot this idea in Flintshire. From this, we hope to show that Book of You will help to personalise care, show friends, family and carers what people enjoy doing in their lives and what matters to them. Most of all, we hope it will be an enjoyable shared activity to help celebrate the achievements and rich lives of participants. We are therefore able to offer a free life story book using our unique multimedia Book of You system for 20 individuals with a learning disability during February and March.
If you have an interest in being involved in this project please contact us on info@bookofyou.co.uk.
