Two New Groups Starting in Ruthin and Llanrwst

We have two new groups starting very soon in North Wales. The first one will start on 27th September, 10.30-11.30am, at Hafan Gwydir in Llanrwst LL26 0AR. It is the second of our Community Books that has been funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and will involve members of the community putting together a digital multimedia book all about the history of their town over the decades. We have already started the first of these community books in Rhos on Sea and it is proving to be a very popular and interesting activity with the group growing week on week (see the photo above). Participants can look at photographs and film and chat about shops, people, theatres and events from many years ago. If you are, or were, a resident in Llanrwst please feel free to come along and share your memories and make new friends. There will also be a FREE Book of You account for any participant who wants one so you can create your own life story book with family and friends (normal cost £25).

The second group is part of the Santander funded project, Book of You Plus. As well as creating a life story book with our experienced staff and volunteers, you can learn to use your tablet/computer for things such as online shopping, Skype, email etc. This group will meet every week for 6 weeks between 2 and 3pm at The Naylor Leyland Centre, Well Street, Ruthin LL15 1AF (next door to Ruthin Decor).

Both of these groups can be supported in both English and Welsh and you don’t have to own a computer or even to have ever used one to come along and join in the fun. The groups are completely free and tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. The groups are dementia inclusive.
