Funding Received from Greggs Foundation for Tablets #Greggs4Good

In April, we were very happy to discover we’d been successful in our funding bid to Greggs Foundation Local Community Project Fund for more tablet computers to help us run our projects moving forward. As Book of You’s work has expanded and we have more staff and volunteers out and about, we needed more of the Lenovo 10″ tablets we use to run our sessions. We have been using these tablets for a number of years now and they are reasonably priced, simple to use and a good size for viewing an individual’s Book. The microphone, camera and camcorder quality is good too.
Thanks to Greggs Foundation, we will now able to purchase around 16 new tablets over the coming year which will make a huge difference to the staff and volunteers as they go about their work, both with individuals and in groups in the community and in care homes, and it will mean we can help even more people straightaway.
We have also accepted Greggs’ invitation to become one of the first community groups to join their network dedicated to all Greggs Foundation Grant awardees. This will allow us to share the progress and success stories from our projects, promote our upcoming events, share good practice, look for volunteers, attract more support and find out more about the Greggs Foundation team work.
