What a busy week!

As expected we’ve had a very busy week. We travelled down to Cardiff on Tuesday evening and then we spent the whole of the following day at the Age Cymru My Home Life Conference where we ran 2 sessions (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) which were well attended. We also listened to some excellent speakers – even getting a mention at one point from Sarah Rochira the Older People’s Commissioner. Nice surprise!
It was great to be able to use our new promotional films to explain what Book of You are all about. So much better to see and hear the successful stories from the service users themselves rather than just hear me talking about them. And Professor Bob Woods gave an excellent talk within our presentation about the power of reminiscence therapy and digital life story books.
We hit the ground running the next day by holding our first of two celebratory coffee mornings at the Deganwy Quay Hotel for some of our testers (and film stars!) and their family. Then it was straight over to Llys Elian Residential Care Home to meet with ITV Wales who were interviewing Kathy as well as a member of staff and some of the service users, about Book of You and what we do. The second celebratory coffee morning was this morning, once again at the very accommodating Deganwy Quay.
Next week, we will start to book in our new batch of sessions… exciting times!
