Book of You Memory Boxes

Today, we are giving out the first of our Book of You memory boxes to MHA Mayfields Care Home in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The boxes contain a mixture of resources for all the senses which can be added to by the homes and family members themselves over time, and will hopefully start some great conversations. To start off there is a bag of old fashioned sweets, a cd, a lavender bag, a cuddly teddy bear, a copy each of Picturgoer and Practical Householder magazines from the 1950s, an old fashioned toy, a knitting pattern from the 1960s and one of our ever popular Green Shield Stamp books!

These boxes are on trial and have formed part of recent projects taking place at our Methodist Homes pilot and also our Conwy Council project. Contents have been researched and we are looking forward to receiving feedback from the homes as to what other resources we could include in future.
